How Barbara Corcoran Became a Real-Estate Mogul After Her Ex-Boyfriend Dumped Her
What does not kill you will make you stronger. The insult of her ex-boyfriend fueled her ego and the sweetest revenge she exacted on him was her extraordinary success.

If you watch the investment show “Shark Tank” on ABC, you will definitely know Barbara Corcoran who is a real-estate mogul and a star investor.
“I had twenty-three jobs before I found real estate, and was fired from 3 of them. Thank God I was fired or else I might still be in those jobs” — Barbara Corcoran
The story began decades ago back in the 1970s when Barbara was a waitress at a diner. Before working there, she had worked twenty-three jobs and was fired from three of them. There, she met Ramone Simone who was a father of three daughters. He encouraged her to go into real estate because she had such a good personality. He believed that she would be doing great at real estate.
Her relationship with that ex-boyfriend, Ramone Simone, changed her life completely.
She quitted her job with the thought that “I worked twenty-three jobs before, so why not give it a try”. Corcoran worked as a receptionist at a real-estate agency as Simone proposed they start a real-estate company together. He offered her $1,000 and said she could take 49% of their business, which was called Corcoran-Simone company.
She moved in to live with him and his three lovely daughters. They had 14 rental agents within seven years. She felt on top of the world, Simone was like a prince that rescued her from ordinary life.
“When times are bad, the universe is open to totally different things” — Barbara Corcoran
Nothing lasts forever
On a dark night seven years later, Simone came home and was seriously surprised to announce that he was going to marry Corcoran’s secretary. She said in her head “what, Tina-that bitch?”.
